caught in the act of kindness

This page  is for those random acts of kindness where a neighbor went out of their way to do something for you, like call the police when they saw a burglar breaking into your house or making you homemade chicken soup when you had the flu. It’s a thank-you page for all the little things we do that make us better neighbors and ultimately, a better community. If you have any to report, send an e-mail to wphakc@hotmail.com or call 816-444-2159.

Jeff and Amy Lee North and Dan and Cathy Barnett make dinner for a sick neighbor on our block, who’s often to sick to cook. December 2006

Gus, Augie and Greta Sonnenberg pick up newspapers all up and down our block and put them at the front doors so nobody has to walk in the snow in their slippers or get caught at the curb in their jammies. Thank you, guys! September 2005

Amy Faulkner shoveled my sidewalk last week when we got our first snow. I left for work very early that Wednesday as the snow was just beginning. When I arrived home that night, I found my sidewalk had been shoveled. Thank you, Amy!   Michelle Cour January 2004
