Fourth of july celebration |
|
Details As always, for 2007, the event will be held on July 4th which this year is on Wednesday. The event is held on the grounds of Hale Cook School.
Organizer This event is planned by : By phone: By mail: By email: Overview This event always features a parade of kids on their bikes and trikes around the school as well as a number of contests to get everyone in the patriotic spirit. Typically we give prizes for best decorated: · House · Pet· Adult · Child· Bike · Trike
We have games, races or contests for the kids to compete in and work off some of that excess energy and those change from year to year, always trying to keep things fresh. New ideas are always welcome. A pumper from KCMO fire department comes to give the kids a chance to meet some of our firefighters and to check out the equipment. It’s always a popular feature.
In recent years, we’ve added a cooking contest giving three prizes for the best entries and these entries provide some of the food we serve as well. A couple grill masters provide burgers and dogs with appropriate side dishes and cold beverages for all. The theme changes from year to year but it’s always a lot of fun.
Volunteer needed: This event requires so much prior planning that we need multiple planners to each be in charge of one phase: food, games and prizes, contests and entertainment, logistics and public relations. Please call or email Summer Henry to volunteer. Her contact information can be found here.
