Laura and Ed Lavallee

7305 Pennsylvania

Newlyweds Ed and Laura moved into their home recently, although they’re lived in the area for a while. Laura is from Iowa; Ed from Connecticut. His military background meant he moved frequently, living in El Paso, TX, Tacoma, WA and Germany. Laura student taught in Ireland and Japan. Between them they’ve seen much of the world and plan to see more; Scotland next. For now, they’re settled down in Kansas City, enjoying big city living at affordable prices with the amenities our  neighborhood offers such as mature trees and older homes. Five of Laura’s siblings and her grandmother live close too. They share their house with their dog Bilbo, an extremely friendly English pointer/beagle mix.

Laura teaches at St. Paul’s Episcopal School and Ed is the Creative Director for U.S. Toy. When they’re not working, Laura enjoys biking and running (especially on the Trolley Track), and taking classes such as acting and Kendo (the art of Japanese fencing) through Communiversity . Ed enjoys working out, reading, watching movies and collecting comic books. He’s also the author of a fantasy comic book and is working on a new one set in colonial times. Both Ed and Laura are WPHA volunteers too.

The Lavallees updated the electrical wiring in their house last year. This year they plan to enhance the landscaping, paint or side the house and remodel the bathroom by stripping wall paper and replacing  fixtures. If you’re taking a walk down their street, stop by and say “welcome”.
