WPHA Needs You!
In the column on the right is the list of events for the balance of the year. We love doing them, creating opportunities for us all to get to know each other better, but they take a lot of work to pull off and the same few people always help. We need more people to get involved to help plan the events as well as carry them out. We are also needing more homeowners to serve on the board of directors and to watch for and welcome new neighbors. Can you help to do any of these things? Contact Pat or Shannon O’Boyle (361-6705) if interested in serving on the board or being a Street Lieutenant, Michelle Cour to help with special events (444-2159) or Linda Harris to help beautify the neighborhood (363-0554).
· Serve on the board of directors of WPHA · Be a street Lieutenant for Belleview, Pennsylvania, 72nd, 74th or 75th Street · Assist with loading dumpsters and checking that dues are paid to participate · Planting daffodils or hostas at Hale Cook and assisting kids to do it also · Clean out catch basins, spread mulch, rake leaves or other garden tasks · Assist children to decorate a pumpkin and help plan the activity · Help supervise kid volunteers or assist with picking up food drive donations · Sing holiday songs as you stroll around the neighborhood |

Have you Hit the List? By Drew Sullivan
The WPHA e-mail list serve is a great way to exchange news and find out what’s new around Ward Park. It was created in May and more than 75 of your neighbors have already joined. It’s an e-mail forum where discussion can range from thoughts on new restaurants in the area to questions about the history of the neighborhood to opinion on property tax reassessment. Almost anything goes, but just in case, all messages go through a quick approval process before they’re posted.
One easy way to start getting these neighborhood-related E-mails is to go to http://mail.wphakc.org/mailman/listinfo/news_wphakc.org. Sign yourself up by entering your e-mail and a password in the “Subscribing to News” section. The other way is to send an e-mail with your name, address and e-mail address to wpha.list@gmail.com. Drew Sullivan, who is the WPHA administrator of this service, will enroll you.
Join today and keep up-to-date on what’s happening in your neighborhood. You can unsubscribe at any time, but we’re betting that as the e-mail list grows, its value to us all will increase too.
