Special Events Date Changes
Dumpster Day originally scheduled August 5th is rescheduled for Saturday, September 23rd. This will still take place at Hale Cook School from 8:00-11:00 a.m. We’ll accept leaves and brush, tires, antifreeze, household batteries, oil and paint. The city no longer accepts bulky trash at dumpster days. All traffic enters on Pennsylvania and exits on Jefferson. We need volunteers to help unload cars, load dumpsters, direct traffic, record information for KCMO’s Haz-Mat crew etc. Please email wpha@lycos.com your name, phone number and email address if you’ll help. All who participate in Dumpster Day are asked to bring one dollar or one can of food for Harvesters. We ask those living on the 7300 block of Jefferson or Pennsylvania to pull their cars into their driveways to facilitate the traffic flow.
The Volunteer Appreciation Party originally scheduled for Friday, September 22nd has been rescheduled to Friday, October 13th. The party is open to all those who volunteer their time to WPHA as Street Ambassadors, Paper Pushers, Event Organizers, Board Members etc. or to those who are interested in becoming a volunteer. Most volunteers give two hours a year or less to WPHA. Come meet your neighbors and learn more about it. WPHA pays for the appetizers and the first round of drinks. Next Page |
