Spring Garden Tour Sunday, June 10th 1:00 - 4:00 p. m.
View great gardens, visit with neighbors, enjoy refreshments and gain inspiration. The featured gardens have required many hours of hard work and patience to add to the beauty of our neighborhood.
Each family who takes the tour can collect a packet of seeds at each house. If you tour them all, you’ll end up with enough seeds to plant an herb garden.
The gardens on this year’s tour are listed on the left. In addition, young entrepreneurs are invited to host a lemonade stand in front of these homes. |

Home of the Month Award
Spring brings the H.O.M. awards where dues-paying WPHA homeowners who’ve done an outstanding job to improve or maintain their home or landscaping are rewarded. Each winner receives a $25 gift certificate from Soil Service Garden Centers for a job well done.
Nominations can be made by email to Ellen and Jonathan Klem at Ellen.Klem@hotmail. com or by calling 816.363.0043. Anyone can nominate someone for this award.
We still need a few volunteers to take a photo and write a brief article about the family that wins each month. You needn’t do it every month if you can help the Klems with one or two. We can assist with the photo, if needed.

WPHA marker urns
The flowers for the urns on top of the large stone markers were bought and delivered one recent Sunday. Thank you, Alison Baker!
If you’d like an urn for the stone marker on your property, there is no charge to you, and installation will be done by a professional. Call Dan or Brenda Kumm at 816.523.6542 and they’ll reserve one for you. We have a limited number to install each year. The deadline to order is coming up soon, so please call now.
Homeowners must pick up the plants at a house in our neighborhood each time they're changed, and must water them regularly. If you’d like an urn and can water the plants from the ground using a hose; but feel you can’t work on a ladder to plant the flowers in the urn, we have volunteers who can help. |
